I write books for teens because teens rock the world. I’m the author of When It Happens, Take Me There, Waiting for You, Something Like Fate, So Much Closer, Keep Holding On, All I Need, Now and Forever, and the City Love trilogy.
I’m into archival scrapbooking because sometimes I forget what happened. I love old-school board games, hot air balloons, positive energy, sea glass, and window boxes. I collect Gelly Roll pens. And don’t leave me alone with your closet unless you want it organized. I’m an organization freak!
Random things I adore: backgammon, Calder mobiles, sparkly city lights, cupcakes with pink frosting, Girl Scout badges, green architecture, nostalgia, NPR, this old-school Atari game called Adventure, palm trees, art deco, stamp & sticker collecting, train tracks, and W hotels.
The energy of New York City is amazing. That’s why I live here.

‘When It Happens’ is now on my list of totally inspiring amazing books ever! and it’s not that long a list! seriously, it helped me in ways u can’t imagine. and i can’t believe how alike me and Sara are! we both want to be architects and go to NYU, and me and Tobey both love the cure! Something Like Fate and So Much Closer. I have to say I loved them both they’re amazing and I can totally relate to them in one way or another. My novels are fiction. That said, Keep Holding On was inspired by my own experiences with being bullied in junior high and high school. Many of Noelle’s experiences in the book actually happened to me. Although they are not true stories, all of my books include details from real life.
Is there going to be a sequal (not sure how to spell it) to Something Like Fate? It there one already? I picked up the book from my shelf and started to reread it when i noticed it said “part one”.
Something Like Fate is told in three parts. I’m not sure if I’ll be writing sequels to any of my books yet. But! We are working on the movie adaptation of Something Like Fate right now. And I’m writing a trilogy called City Love. The first book will be out Summer 2015.
I love your books so much I reread all I need at least once a month and I can’t wait to get your new book as a graduation present when it comes out
