  1. Okay. So, three things I am absolutely in love with after reading “Take Me There” :
    1. iPod dancing. The most romantic and cutest thing I have EVER read (and now seeing the pictures, it must have been totally romantic and sweet…the pier is so pretty!)
    2. Cupcakes. I want to go to Crumbs and Magnolia Bakery. And seeing those pictures make me want to go to NY even more — I would go just to get those darn cupcakes! Hehe!
    3. Computer geeks. James is basically perfect because he’s so imperfect. I absolutely love him! (Although I still love Tobey more 😉 )

    • Yay, you’re in love with stuff! That makes my whole day:)
iPod dancing on the pier is totally intense. I’ve tried it and it’s like, whoa. Also recommended: iPod dancing in the street (but only when no cars are coming). And all iPod dancing should be conducted at night.
If you’re ever in NYC, I would love to have a cupcake with you! They’re even better than they look 😉

    • You can get the Magnolia cookbook and make them yourself! That should be a blast, mixing the icing colors exactly how you want them. Just remember to add extra icing for authenticity.

  2. Love them
I love all of the pictures, but especially the one of Hudson River Park in the daytime. It looks so tranquil. And the cupcakes look absolutely DELECTABLE!

    • Re: Love them
The park is awesome. It’s so nice to just go there and sit on a bench, looking across the water at the skyline and just chilling out. Spaces like that with water and light in the city are an oasis.

  3. library goosebumps
wow, i got goosebumps to see the library arched window and then to learn that the cover designer created it from reading your book! but that’s what i love about your books. they come to life and feel so real. can’t wait to read ‘Take Me There’.
    your pics are beautiful.
love the bike. and can’t taste the cupcake icing and sprinkles, warmed in the sunlight.
    lai

  4. And we didn’t go for those cupcakes when I was in NYC because…?? Remember, I am the keeper of the Colasanti Tree, which means I have direct control over your AC use…and the summer is coming!!!

    • Dude, because you were mad busy that day! Plus, I introduced you to the refreshing granita and we went to the Strand. Cupcakes on top of all that would have been too much perfection in one day 😉 Guess that just means you’ll have to come back here soon!
P.S. Be nice to my tree. He was not involved.

      • I just notices yesterday that Tree is getting too long and his branches are dragging on the ground like a basset hound’s ears. Going to have to cut that bad boy back. I’ll send pics of the endeavour

  5. amazing
this is the most amazing book i have ever read. i am not a person who likes to read for fun but this is the only book i read for fun this whole year. i was in a book store with my friend when i picked it up and i read it during my breaks at school , like lunch, people would ask me what i am reading and not only would i tell them that I’m reading a book, i would tell them i am reading the best book ever made and if they could they should read it at once.
thank you so much. this book also helped me because i was going through a tough time where my ex boyfriend and my best friend “fell in love” (so they say) and she wasn’t there for me all the time and before i was forgiving but this book helped me realize that she was not a good friend and a best friend would be there no matter what.
    thank you so much

  6. Woah.
man, this book was so amazing, i don’t know where or HOW i’d begin.
i loved the romance in it, and i especially loved how you know EXACTLY what a teenager goes through.
    you’re a VERY inspirational writer.
thanks a WHOLE bunch for writing this book<3

      • Re: THANK YOU FOR HOPE AND MORE……
WOW I’VE READ WHEN IT HAPPENS, AND TAKE ME THERE ,AND HALF WAY INTO WAITING FOR YOU AND THERE THE MOST AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AND INSPIRING BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ! I LIKE BOOKS A LOT, TO READ THEM AND GO INTO A DIFFERENT WORLD, BUT I DON’T JUST LIKE YOUR BOOKS I LOVE THEM THERE MY LIFE BESIDES GOING TWO SCHOOL, BEING WITH MY FRIENDS, AND MY MUSIC. I FEEL YOUR BOOKS AND YOUR WRITING SPEAK TO ME IT FEELS LIKE IF YOU WHERE REALLY A TEENAGER LIVING THOSE EXPERIENCES. YOU KNOW I ALSO LOVE TWO WRITE, AND ONE DAY WHEN I GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL I WANT TWO GO TO NY AND STUDY IN NYU AND BECOME A WRITER THAT’S WHY YOUR BOOKS CAUGHT MY EYE HOW THEY INCLUDED NY AND THE COLLEGE I ONE DAY HOPE THAT I GET A CHANCE TO GO THERE BECAUSE THAT’S MY DREAM. BESIDES THAT REASON I’VE HAD TROUBLE WITH LOVE TWO AND I’M SUCH A ROMANTIC I FALL IN LOVE VERY QUICK, BUT AT LEAST ONE THING I FEEL IN LOVE WITH THAT WONT BREAK MY HEART IS YOUR BOOKS. I WANT TO THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES AND MORE FOR GIVING ME INSPIRATION AND HOPE FOR LOVE AND MORE YOU ARE TRULY MY FAVORITE AUTHOR…..

        • Re: THANK YOU FOR HOPE AND MORE……
I can’t thank you enough for your sweet words. Your kindness makes me really happy.
Whenever I start writing a new book, I hope that my readers will connect with my story and feel less alone. You are why I write.
Keep your dreams alive. Focus on creating your ideal life and never give up!

  7. Wow. I just finished Take Me There, and I used to live in New York, but it’s just amazing to see the photos of the actual places where things went down. I feel like I want to visit New York now with this blog post in hand so I can check out all of these spots…kind of like I did in Vienna with all the Before Sunrise spots.
    Yeah, you got me, Susane!

  8. The thing about a good read…
When you know a book is really good, you automatically think about it non stop. In class, you want to be reading, not learning biology. at dinner, you sneak it under the table and read it while eating. And when you go to bed, you stay up with a flashlight under the covers, totally engrossed in the book so much that you don’t care that you’ll be majorly sleep deprived in the morning.
I could take an extremely long time praising this book and how real it is. How awesome it is to have insight to characters that you would think are so different, but you completely understand that that’s why they’re meant to be together. I could spend ages talking about how easy it is to just become this character, if even for the hour and a half to read it. I won’t, though because I think it goes without saying, and a lot of people have said it.
I’m a real critic of books, and I can tell when they’re good… This is how:
if, when you’re up late reading a tremendous novel, you feel sorry for reading it so fast because you don’t want it to ever end, you know it’s a truly amazing book. So good job, because as excited I was to have read take me there, I was sad to let the extroardinary world go.
Beautiful pics by the way 🙂
